Angry spyware and malware problems

ok... not sure if i am posting in quite the right section but hopefully i can get some help... first of all sorry if i don't give the right info or seem like i don't know what i'm doing because... well... i kinda don't... but anyways... to the problem...

i ran spybot s&d and was watching the files it was going through and wrote down ones that seemed suspicious... i looked some of them up and found out that some were spyware and malware... ones such as cydoor, spy arsenal, smitfraud-c, virtumonde, etc... i have been trying to find ways to get rid of them which is what led me here...

i was in process of trying to find out how to remove virtumonde and came across a post on here... however the help given wouldn't work for me... one link someone posted didn't even come up and the other said it couldn't figure out which version of windows i was running... i also downloaded hijack this... i will include a logfile at the end of this so you can look it over... maybe someone can make more sense of it than me...

i downloaded and ran hijack this trying to get rid of one of the programs i mentioned but couldn't even find the files i was told to look for in the log file... i know more than most when it comes to getting rid of this kind of stuff but apparently not enough... and i am using my girlfriends computer and she knows how to mess it up but not how to fix it... if anyone can give me any ideas on how to get rid of these programs or sees anything else in the log file that is a problem please help... i've been trying to get this puter clean for weeks...

Re: spyware and malware problems

Did it actually find any of those files, or was it searching for those files ?
Have you tried some of the free tools ? Spybot is a bit old nowadays.
Try Malwarebytes.
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
and Superantispyware.

Run those scanners after they've updated and see what they say.
I assume that you have a resident AV like MSE, Avast etc ?

Or possibly Atari.

Re: spyware and malware problems

i was just looking at the files it was looking through while it was doing a scan... it didn't actually identify the file as a problem... and i honestly am not sure what kind of av is on here... i don't even know what free av's are any good... haven't had to deal with it for years cause i haven't had my own puter... but i will try the tools you said and update you on the progress...

Re: spyware and malware problems

Spybot reports the malaware that it is searching for. That does not mean that you have any of it on your computer unless it actually finds it.

It's basically saying 'I'm now looking for virtumonde' 'ok, I didn't find it, I'm now looking for..'

Re: spyware and malware problems

Hi Dub 4, sorry to her about your problem.
I guess you need to shut down your machine and reboot in safe mode. Then just see if everything's fine.

Regarding free Anto Virus, I am not sure if you have tried AVG..there's a free version for non-commercial use.
Maybe if you are able to download it, you can install it once in safe mode.
