Laptop fan control software

Hi,

Can anyone please recommend some free software or a way to change the fan speed on my laptop?

It's constantly on 100%. Restart has no effect, temps are well within normal range, and load is ~32%.

It is an Asus x56 laptop.

Speedfan might be able to do it.

I have speedfan 4.45 installed (to monitor temps). Where are fan speed controls? On the first screen there is the automatic fan control button (but it has no effect :S).

I'm going to try reseating the fan later and I have a new one coming from ebay.

About 2/3rds down Speed 1,2,3 etc..

Not all laptop speeds can be controlled, my HDX is controlled via the bios and not a single application can alter that fact.
