Read that Asus manual, or just plug it in and see if it is recognised.

Tried putting it in and it doesn't fit properly and the computer isn't reading it so I guess I'm out of luck
It's probably an SD card slot. They have a size that's almost the same.
Make sure you don't get it stuck, lots of people do it. There is a long running thread on here about it.
