    Wireless can be so unpredictable though. Id hard wire all the time. Just go Cat5e, the chances are you wont use it to its fullest anyway. Easy enough to drill a small hole through the floor and run it direct.

    What about a powerline adapter? I use one and get a perfectly stable connection at 100mb/s down.

    What I did to run my Ethernet cable from downstairs to upstairs in a room at the other end of the house was run it through the wall, up the house on the outside, into the loft, through the loft, then down into the room where my PC was, it does run down the wall inside the room where my PC is, but alternatively I could have gone back outside, then through the wall next to the PC =) A bit of hard work, but I really wanted a wired connection and this was the only way!
