The PC has a special caddy for HDD's :
Now, this caddy has a fan that connects to the mobo to cool the HDD. I have replaced the HDD with a SSD i.e. SSD is in a 2.5" to 3.5" caddy and it is slotted into this DELL caddy. As the SSD is smaller in size to the HDD, the SATA and the power cable have to be plugged in closer to the centre of the caddy rather than at the end as would have been the case with a HDD. But, the fan below the caddy is causing obstruction.
If I remove the fan, POST keeps telling me of a fan error and it doesn't go away even if I switch off alert me on keyboard errors option in BIOS. I have used double-sided tape to stick the fan on top of the SSD but it now touches the side of the case and is noisy like a jet. What's the best way to remedy this , Hexites ?
