Firstly I run a video production business so use DVD-RW drives quite heavily so do expect them to fail due to heavy usage.
The thing is I currently run 4 drives which are 3x DVD-RW and 1x BR-RW, so most of the time I am burning DVDs and just use the 3x DVD-RW drives together using nero.
But I will say the oddest thing happened as all 3 drives failed within 10 burns, they where bought and fitted at the same time so should have approx the same lifespan but that feels almost like there is a kill switch inside them, there must be 100-150 burns on each.
I will add the BR-RW drive is fine and finished the job for me.
So could there be anything else which caused the mass failure or is it just the same batch/age/usage and nothing more.
