my pc is using alot of ram up (12gb out of 24) doing nothing at all looked in task manager and resource manager and nothing is showing up using ram

Have you clicked "show processes from all users" (may be slightly different depending on OS version). That list by default only shows YOUR processes, and nothing owned by the "System" - that's where virus scanners and other resource-hungry stuff hide.

how much ram is available? (performance tab of taskman) If its around 20-22GB, then your fine, it's just windows caching.

Odd that you would spec 24GB of RAM without being able to figure out how much you need and/or are using though :/
