TV Tuner, Windows Media Centre and Windows Vista Home Premium.

Okay, so I have another problem.

Recently a wire came free from the motor which pumps the cooling solution around the liquid cooling system in my PC. I had managed to get my Myc P7131h/dt/p-mce/a Tuner - Pci Dvb-t/pal/phillips 7131 In (TV Tuner) to work in Windows Media Centre on Windows Vista Home Premium.

I receive a replacement motor and turn the computer on, to discover that Windows is upset and no longer accepts the tuner. When I open up Windows Media Centre, I get an error notifying me that no tv tuner has been detected.

Looking in device manager I see that it is a problematic item.

When I select "scan for hardware changes" Windows detects the tuner, but when I select "Locate and install driver software (recommended)" for the "Multimedia Controller" I am informed that "Windows was unable to find driver software" for my device, even when I have the correct driver disc inserted in my dvd-rw drive.

I have tried swapping pci slots for the card, but this made no difference sadly.

I have no idea what to do in order to get it working?

uninstall any drivers already on there, make sure the tuner is seated correctly, reinstall the drivers and see... maybe see if there are updated drivers as well... vista is annoying like this

Hello crazyfool, thank you for your response. I apologise for not replying more swiftly but I felt it best to only respond once I had tried all of your suggestions.

Unfortunately this has not resolve the issue.

This has happened to me before, the solution was instead of letting windows search choose the driver manually by browsing the CD, hope it works!

I would try removing the 'hardware' from the device list, shutting down, and let the box discover the tuner card.
