| HDLED, PWRBTN, Front USB ETC. [contains photos] Well, my friends motherboard died so Im fitting the new one her father bought, some ASRock crap, and I cant understand the manual or the labelling of the ports on the motherboard Also, their crappy ass case has side USB ports, I've never fitted these myself and the "EZ Upgrade" motherboard is turning out to be harder than expected Please see cables and motherboard photos and assist to what should go where, lol! Many thanks guys and the following Thanks again guys! Last edited by Tobeman; 17-04-2005 at 02:30 PM.. |

| HEXUS webmaster | I find the best thing you can do with USB connectors is make a block by taping them together with electrical tape. As for labelling: +5V = Power +D = P+ -D = P- Ground = GND Just make sure the (1) and (2) connectors are all on the same line in the right order. Plug Shield into dummy. Your power and reset connectors want to go over their respective pins and a ground pin, so reset switch goes onto RESET and GND. The LEDs need the right polarity. On the side of the HDD and Power LED connectors that don't have the writing on, you will see a little black arrow. That signifies the positive pin - match that up to the respective positive terminal on the motherboard. That help? |

If you really want the power light to work - cut the connector in half with a stanley knife so that you can fit it over the two pins. Stupidly fiddly, I know! |

| Yeah when I was putting it together I noticed that, thanks for the help. Its not my PC so Im saying screw it Its a poo case and motherboard they have anyway so its their own fault, h0h0.Everythings great, except they have an asshat Samsung SpinPoint drive with a million different jumper variations. Its 80gb, or 60, cant remember exactly, so I obviously chose the "Over 37gb Master" settings, and get the following error. Checked bios and everything so I have no idea what the problem is . See picture below |

| Well, I plugged the drive in (before I replaced mobo) to get documents off in another PC, but I got an identical error on a MSI board. Thinking about it this probably means its the jumper settings? Ill post more pics of the current jumper settings and the layout specified by Samsung in a mo |
