Thumbs down Oh dear, oh dear oh dear, Laptop bent power thing problem :(

    Oh dear

Seems I've rammed my power lead into my laptop a bit too hard, looking now the pin, that the power cable plugs into is bent dangerously to one side, and the power cable will no longer go in

So what can I do ? Is there a way of fixing it ? I was thinking a thin knife might be able to prise it back the other way, but the metal might snap ! Help

bend it back carefully! , if it breaks then you will have to solder it back together or solder on a new plug

Is it actually possible to open a laptop and solder it back on if I did? The case looks pretty inpregnable, but if i snapped it, hell I might as well give it a go if I can

should be able to, but it will viod all warrentys for it. Most manufacturers of conumer electronics make sure that if you open it they will notice.

What sort of plug/socket is it? Look here for a similar picture: http://www.rapidelectronics.co.uk/rk...CAT_CODE=20023

Same thing happened to my dads laptop, but he spent £50 to get it repaired. I knew he should have just bent it back. I bet thats all they did in the shop lol
