BSOD after new parts installed

I've installed a few new parts to my system for an upgrade:

New Parts:
Abit AN8 Ultra Motherboard
WD Caviar SE 250GB 2500KS SATA-II
PowerColor Radeon X850XT 256mb
Antec TrueBlue 480w ATX v2.0 PSU

Old Parts:
Athlon 64 3200+ (Winchester)
Seagate 200gb IDE Harddisk
2 X 512 mb DDR 400 oem Elixir Ram
Sony OEM dvd writer

My first probelm came briefly after assembly and installation of windows when my dvd writer would not load any data from the setup disks, data would show up when I browse the cd but it'd take a long time to load, and when I double click on the disk it'll fail with error messages such as i/o error and c:\ is not a valid win32 application. After a few attempts of trying to get it to work I changed over to an old Asus cd-rw which worked without any problems. I proceeded to install drivers and all seems smooth, when suddenly my computer reboots due to BSOD errors. After various fresh installs of windows, I suspect it's not a problem with windows and the drivers, so I took out one stick of the ram and changed the placements on the slots a few times with each one to see if it was a ram problem, but it wasn't.

The BSOD messages I've been getting are random, they'd happen when I load up programs, try to play games or just simply idle while downloading:

BAD_POOL_HEADER
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL
SYMTDI.SYS
NTFS.SYS

Together with a few BSOD with no message just a few lines of codes.

As I prdered my parts online at overclockers, it'd mean I'd need to send my part back if it's faulty, but I cannot be sure which part is at fault until I've tested them. I've planned to add more ram in the first place so I'm heading out to buy a couple more sticks of 512mb modules later today. I suspect it's a fault with the motherboard but I cannot be absolutely sure.

Any advice on which part is most likely to be faulty? Thanks in advance for any help on this!

Go into the bios and make sure CPU temps are reasonable, u may find the hsf hasnt made good contact. Also ensure u are installing with only the necesities installed so u can iliminate probs. Are u installing to the new SATAII drive or ur old PATA if so make sure u have only 1 drive installed for the install again to limit probs. I assume once ur up and running ur have installed all the 3rd party drivers like the Nforce 4 drivers. Also take a note if the heatpipe gets stupidly hot, have heard some stories about the heatpipes getting very hot if airflow isnt too good

I'm installing to the new SATA II hdd, when I setup windows I only have the new hdd installed, and I've had all the drivers installed once windows was installed.

Heat shouldn't be an issue, 7 case fans plus my room is pretty cool now it's winter. The heatpipe on the mobo is warm to touch but not hot like it'd burn my fingertips.

My comp has been up and running for about 2 hours after this install and it's had one BSOD, it's 3 hours after that now and I'm just waiting for the second one coming heh.

SYMTDI.SYS is a driver installed with Symantec products and is normally associated with the anti-virus files Either uninstall and reinstall all their drivers and ontact Symantec for help or try running this programme to see what it gives you....it's free

That's one of the few error messages I've been getting when my system crashed. Since I'm getting multiples of them showing up I'd think my NIS 2006 is not the reason behind this?

What Vdimm are you running?
What timings are set (AN8s seem to prefer setting manually rather than auto)?

There have been a lot of problems reported associated with the Symantrec programmes and I think you would be advised to pursue this line of enquiry to eliminate it from possibilities.

I got the ntfs.sys, after I forgot to turn the PC off, when turning the house power off. think it knackered the partition. I had to re-format the drives

Also had a lott of the not less or equal crap as well, its 'orrible. Again, finally resolved by re-formatting.
