    Peugeot 306 XSI Starting Problems

    Hi All

I have an M Reg Peugeot 306 XSI which is a problem when starting from cold. It starts ok but runs very low revs so I have to keep foot on accelerator. It cuts out as soon as revs drop. Its ok after a few minutes of running and warmed up.

I have changed the stepper motor.

    Any suggestions please?

    Thanks

    Carl

is it ok when in gear and driving?

should be the idle control valve/motor.. but you have changed that..

However the same thing will happen if you have a vacuum leak or a very badly blowing exhaust-just before the o2 sensor (happened to me last week). Also if your o2/maf sensor are bad, they will cause the same thing, but they rarely go wrong.

Is this the car runs on petrol or Diesel? if it's diesel, u gonna need to change the glowplugs as this is the similar plm that i had before, i changed the plugs, after that start up no plm at first time smoothly even in winter time! But if the petrol, u gonna need to check and change the spark plugs, as these are the most common cause of starting plm or idling flacuting.
