Red face Corsa SRi - WTF? :o

Had a sprint on a dual carridgeway last night. Corsa stuck up my backside at 40mph.. so I open her up in 3rd all the way up to the red line and I've gotta say, I was pulling away, but this thing was there with me all the way up. Get into 4th, still pulling hard and I'd say I gained about 4 car lengths but that was about it.

Get to the island and it's a flippin Corsa SRi.

    Ain't these just a poxy 1.4?

The 00-present SRi's are 1.8 16v's with 123 bhp and 60 in about 8 seconds. Not exactly slow

And weren't the older ones 1.6 16v? I like the new one's, saw one the other day. Know how much they are and what insurance rating?

If cars had followed the same developmental path as computers, a Rolls Royce would cost £60, get a million miles per gallon and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.

Old GSi's were a 1.6 16v, but they only have about 110bhp. Old shape SRi's I don't know about.. think they were only the 1.4...

What followed me last night was definately not a blummin 1.4

Corsa's don't exactly weigh much so a 1.6 16v will probably pull quite well!

The GF has a 1.4 16v old shape Corsa and for a 1.4 it does go bloody well.

    1.4 16v = 90bhp

Lowe's Clio must be nearly pushing 200bhp.... so i doubt the 1.4 16v corsa would keep up with him.... its gotta have been one of the larger engine SRI's.

My bet would be an engine transplant job there tbh, an SRi is quick as standard, but not that quick

Lowe, what bhp are you running these days? I didn't think it was anywhere near 200bhp?
