Re: Calibra Progress *!= 56k*
right, just a small update now for the time being. I started today by taking my altenator and altenator fan to an auto electrician to make sure it works (i would rather change it now if it was dodgy rather than on the car). He said it would be a couple of hours so off i went to Nuneaton to pick up a spare bumper
![]() ![]() Its red but im only after the bump strips really as mine are pretty knackered ( i will be colour coding them). On the way back i picked up the altenator and they said it was working spot on as was the fan Cost a fiver for the test, bargain!Anyway, off i go to pick up my latest deliveries... ![]() M3 mirrors so i can get rid of the side nipples legally and also the dtm car has them, however the supplier decided to send me two totally different baseplates! ![]() One phone call later and they are sending me the proper one in the next couple of days ![]() Also with the delivery was the pas fluid and this little package.... ![]() Can you guess what it is yet? ![]() Yup its my new wide arch body kit! ![]() Later tonight my replacement bonnet (post facelift) has been delivered (i know its not white but it will be getting a respray). ![]() And after the altenator has been tested i refitted that and the fan ![]() ![]() Thats all i've got done today. Hopefully ill have more stuff delivered tomorrow. Im running out of room in the house Will need to start fitting some of it ![]() |

![]() Read your thread couple days ago m8e, looks like a really great project. Certainly like the DTM look ![]() I've been on the lookout for a new car since I stuffed my 200sx into a lamp post Just received my £775 bill for the council to replace it ![]() Want a rex but prob going to get a landy or a P38 Range Rover as it's more sensible ![]() |

Re: Calibra Progress *!= 56k*
No good for off road with the old shotguns and dogs or for a bit of lamping with the silenced .22 tho
But your right would only be a fun machine for weekend use, need to get more money and get both ![]() Ummmm yeah P38, think I might struggle with the Firearms licence variation to allow the 20mm cannon and four 50 cals ![]() |

Re: Calibra Progress *!= 56k*
Right well where to start, my apologies for the last week or so of no updates, as you all know ive been doing my final year project for university.
110 grueling A4 pages later and im just about ready to get on with the car . That would be if I wasn't moving house within the next month Me and the gf have found a lovely 3 bed detached house with a big garage to do the car in.Unforuntately the engine won't be in the cally in time so I need to shift the car on a trailer! Because the drive shafts are out this means the splines need to be removed from the shafts and refitted to the hubs before the wheels can go back on. In the meantime, my new wheel centre caps have arrived (finally!) Rimstock provided the decals for the cetres too but kindly left them off for me allowing them to be totally powder coated when the wheels go on ![]() ![]() Hopefully soon ill have some real updates for ya! ![]() |

Re: Calibra Progress *!= 56k*
right guys, few more updates today.
As im moving house soon ive needed to get the wheels back on the front ready for trailering to my new garage ![]() Of course with no driveshafts in, putting the wheels back on will knacker the wheel bearings. ![]() Tada! Very short drive shafts ![]() ![]() Put in... ![]() back on its wheels finally! The front is rather high with no engine in it ![]() With a bit of spare time I thought id get a start on cleaning out the engine bay which was a little dirty. ![]() With some jizer in hand i went at it ![]() And with some panel wipe i finished it off... ![]() Much better! Whilst i was at it i thought id change the gearstick over. 5 speed stick (now up for sale if anybody wants it )![]() removed for a 6 speed stick... ![]() I've had some designs done for the decals too so i've needed some proper measurements for the kit, so i stuck it on with some masking tape so i could do them. ![]() ![]() ![]() And thats all i've done for the time being, hopefully i should have more done soon ![]() |
