The old M3
Old as in, the previous model.
![]() Am I the only one that thinks that car screams "drug dealer"? I find it hard to believe anyone genuinely nice owns one, which is annoying as it's a hugely capable machine. |

Re: The old M3
NikNak, how could you.
I was looking at that very car on Pistonheads and desperately trying to work out a way it could be mine. I got to insurance and gave up (I was ignoring the rather large gap between available cash and asking price, but don't we all? )In all seriousness, I do agree with you, new ones are driven by investment ******s and the old ones by drug dealers. Re: The old M3
The 'old' M3's are sooooooo seksy.
Mind you, don't think I'd like to own one at 112.9p a litre... painful enough filling up my current car! I don't think they scream drug dealer.... too much.... Oh, who am I kidding - they should arrest everyone who owns one ![]() |

Re: The old M3
I'd have one and I dont do drugs, drugs are bad, M'kay....
But saying that its capable out of the box, I prefer to play with my cars, at least until I can afford my 911 GT3/RS |

Re: The old M3
In my experience they're owned by:
1) People who say "Money? not sure what it is... someone tried explaining the concept to me once but I just didn't understand it really, apparently it has something to do with my Platinum cards ?" 2) Middle aged women (the only "average" member of society that can afford to insure it) and usually driven by their husband/son. Amazing how many new Scooby's and M3's you see driven by middle aged women. 3) Young men in their early 20's who live at home and don't mind spending £800+/month on car/insurance/fuel - usually only own it for <12 months before realising how insane the spending is. 4) True petrol-heads who have worked hard to get to a position where they can afford it, acheived a good few years driving experience and NCB to be able to insure it, and love the car so much the fuel is a reasonable sacrifice - the minority unfortunately. Drug dealears prefer the large black 4x4's with limo black windows, stands out like a sore thumb in the daytime, but at night with the lights off it can disappear into the darkness off-road when needed. |

Re: The old M3
To me it just screams "an RS4 has just kicked my ass!
" ![]() ![]() At least that LOOKS special, to me the M3 just looks like a BMW Coupe with Bling. |

![]() To me the joy of the RS4 is it's sleeper style looks. TBH they're similar looking cars*, similar looking wheels, flared arches, side sills, and different front bumper (which look scarily similar). I'd never have either, but if I had to it would be the M3 over the RS4, purely on the fact that I hate 4 door cars. ![]() *in relation to their standard counterparts |

Re: The old M3
I personally would have a B3 coupe over the M3, but that is just personal taste.
Similarly, if I was looking at the RS4, I'd be strongly considering the M5, because its not that much bigger, but gives much more space inside. |

Re: The old M3
A Porsche 911 regularly sat in one of the most run down areas of Salford always said drug dealer to me. My friends and I often walked passed it on our way to uni.

Re: The old M3
Well if were bringing in the RS4 then yes, I'd have one of those over an M3, it'd have to be the RS4Avant+ tho as I'm a family man now so I'd have to try and find as many reasons to justify it to the missus as possible

Re: The old M3
Trig - I actually prefer the look of the Avant to the normal Saloon. Weird, and I'm only 20
