    RIP Craig Jones

A proper young star in bike racing, was hit by another rider after a fall at Brands Hatch yesterday and passed away this morning.

RIP Craig. And my thoughts to your family, who I am sure understand that he did what he loved.

What a wonderfully written article, so sad to hear although I don't follow the bikes I often hear I am missing out on the last true competitive and dangerous motorsport, but so sad when it claims a life. Seems I shared the same birthplace with the young chap, sadly not the same talent!

    RIP Craig

An utter shame and a wonderfully written article.

I love watching the bikes when I get a chance.

    So young as well

I was watching the highlights on Eurosport at the weekend - was a pretty horrendous accident. At the time he was reported as being unconcious (not surprising) and this is the first I've heard anything more about it. Very sad indeed.

Always amazes me the amount of guts these riders must have - I love watching it but it's not something I'd ever want to have a go at.

My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

I don't really watch any form of motor racing but i was visiting my dad in the weekend and he was watching the race, all i remember though was looking in horror as the guy was sent flying off his bike sliding across the track, it was truly horrifying

    RIP Craig

    RIP Craig.

Did he get hit by another bike? It's a proper tragedy, but thankfully very very rare in short circuit racing nowadays.

I still fancy doing a bit of racing before I'm too old, but if I do I'll do it with a HANS device or one of those Dainese neck airbags.

When Craig's bike slipped out from under him there was another bike right behind making quite a swerve to try and avoid him. Whether it hit or not I can't be sure.

There's probably a video of it on YouTube but I won't post it here. Seems tasteless to do so IMO.

Yes he was hit by a trailing bike, in the head it looks like.

Yes there are loads of videos on YouTube of this, many of them foreign, just shows the hold this guy had on the world.

But posting a link to a video of something like this is just tasteless as you have said.

Pitt was right behind him going onto the start/finish straight, Jonesy slipped off and it seemed like Pitt hit him straight in the head .

As for the Youtube videos, almost everyone i know is reporting them to Youtube to get them pulled...if everyone on here could do the same, that would be spot on...
