Starting a Sidecar Racing Team \o/

    Yup that's right.

My uncle and I have been beavering away for sponsors for a sidecar racing team (if you have never seen sidecar racing look here http://www.sidenet.co.uk/Gallery/200...2405/index.htm that should explain it) and we have had our first sponsor come through this morning and put money on the table so its all systems go. This is really just a quick question to ask if anyone know's any companies who may be interested in sponsoring a sidecar racing team which we will be racing in the F2 Championship if it all goes ahead as planned, back end of this season testing, next season a full season of racing.

If you can think of any companies that I could possibly talk to could you please drop a line in here Thanks for your time

I'll give you a tenner if you write "DK-Mech" on the sidecar and send me photos of it from the race

Actually, why don't you sell space for a tenner a race for private people, as long as its readable from distance I am sure you can get some cash this way. Can i have a nice visible spot though as i came up with this

might be an idea, but we are looking for sponsorship to get off the ground atm, we have the bike, just not the means to support it for a whole season, we are looking at 3k to start it all off and get this season underway we have £1000 so far from a sponsor, but once we get on that track we will do everything in our power to keep it going, we have the sidecar in a lockup its primed and ready to go.

Should be a fun season, some good riders comming into the F2 next year

Well, if you can raise enough money before every race - that should do it. Don't need the whole lot up front, do you?

we need the first 3k up front yes to get us in the championship and pay the track fee's which is a shame, after that we can sort the rest out ourselves to get from race to race. Was just wondering if anyone know of companies who would sponsor sidecar's as they ain't exactly well known are they

Which of you is the complete death wish nutter who is going to be the passenger?

But best of luck all the same mate.

I would be that passenger you speak of mate, my uncle used to race in the 1000cc races round the uk but his sponsors went bust and couldn't pay for another seaon so he is driving I am hanging off the sides gonna be a good season if we get the sponsorship fast

Anyone who gets into a 150mph+ climbing frame with a slider taped to his bum gets my respect

Good luck with the sponsorship too. I know how hard that is to get from my son's kart racing. We have to try and source new stub axles for the 24 hour Le Mans end of June (8 week lead time on the spares) as they went through two on Sunday and they had to race with old spares for most of a 6 hour enduro. He drove the last half hour with a flat front left and still held on to 7th and didn't drop more than 1 1/2 - 2 seconds off lap record pace in that time. Amazed me he could run let alone keep a pace the thing was all over the shop but they were too close to the end to come in and change the wheel as they would definitely have lost places and they are leading the championship at the moment. Wish someone with a wallet had been there to see it.
