    Selling a car, insurance?

Right simple question. I am selling our old mondeo, would somebody test driving it be insured? I currently have fully comp, but drivers are named.
    cheers

IIRC only if they are allowed to drive other cars on their insurance. They'd have to be over 25 for that. Cover would probably be just TP too.

Essentially, either you have to name the driver, or you have to have cover which says that anyone can drive your car as long as they have your permission (my mum had this once, but it may not exist any more). The other driver may have insurance which gives them third party cover to drive other cars- in which case you'll be out of pocket if he crashes the car on the test drive.

or....... you could phone up your insurance company... explain to them what you're doing and try to get the necessary insurance cover for testage....
