Regardless of how fast the RS went the Escort was the one that had my eyes glued to the screen. I just loved the lurid slides!
The disappointment of both Escort and our beloved Audi S1 loosing is tempered by the desire to see both on proper tarmac settings OR see the RS and Evo on gravel with the tyres they were using on road! And didn't the GT40 look the mutts?! This week both my gf AND her 14yrs old niece enjoyed the show ..... what is the world coming too?!

Just found out it was not the Stig driving the quattro... That was the bit had me glued to the program!!! Wish he had though - bet he knows the track rather well
As a note they put a rally car vs a road car in both the two examples of the older car loosing, would really have liked to o seen those races on gravel or something like that.Nox |

The evo is a 4wd car, aye, and it does rally. The car they had would of been a road (tarmac) driving version, set up for roads etc, very sensibly as thats what is drives on. A better comparison may well have been the evo vs the sport quattro, which they did a while back on 5th gear? very close that! I wonder what the times were for their board....
