Some new goodies for my golf (56k ouch)

I thought i'd share with you all what i've been doing with me mota.

I recently got the car on VAG-COM which showed up a few errors, a new distributor and lambda probe and she's running much better. I also re-did all the old earth straps with 4awg cable, the bonnet one had totally snapped and i didn't realise that's why my radio didn't work.

At the moment i'm getting the parts together to rebuild my box, i'm still waiting on a 6 puck 6 spring Sachs fast road/race clutch plate, ARP diff bolts, 3.94 VW Racing final drive/ring and pinion and the best bit a Peloquin ATB (alternate torque biasing) diff, it's the same as a quaife only better and much stronger ....but this turned up the other day, it's a Fidanza aluminium flywheel, the original flywheel weighs 18lbs without the ring gear but this weighs 5lbs

Last week i fitted my new sump, it's an aluminium one off a mk4 vr6 which has an extra litre oil capacity and it's baffled. Touch wood i've never bottomed out my sump before so hopefully i wont with this....as this would shatter rather than dent, the only real downside is the cost of a 7 litre oil change.

Next up is a new Ramair race filter with a 1cm oversized inlet which has made a big difference over my old JR cotton filter, i've also changed the old inlet tubing which had a nasty right angle join for a nice mandrel bent stainless section with the breather connection deleted, the last pic shows my nice new Stroeve motorsport stainless steel oil catch tank which i'll fit when i've finished making a proper heatshield for the filter.

The images are working perfectly here, looking nice under the bonnet Could do with a little bit of elbow grease in the engine bay you got some nice new shiney chrome going in then brake dust covered mounts etc. Still that flywheel should help a tad and the air filter I lost interest in the Golfs after the mk2-3 models but seen some nice new shapes flying about

Looking forward to fitting that flywheel - should be more responsive and quicker to rev up with that on! Make sure you tell us how it goes

Thanks for the positive comments all...

M@a TBH i don't really care what it looks like under the bonnet, the parts are there for functionality, it's just a bonus some of them look good... It is a mk3 BTW.

Butuz RR plots show up to a 15whp gain on a standard mota, seeing as mine has about a third extra power over standard and it's set up almost purely for high rpm power (peak power @7700rpm ) there should be a big improvement.

Looking good, you should get some good performance gains. One thing i am wondering about is "schrick" written on your engine?

It is written on the inlet manifold as it is VSR/VGI variable intake manifold made by schrick , the big valve head, valves and cams are also schrick items.
