    car insurance

    lo chaps.

Ive been looking around i-net insurers like the-aa and elephant/admiral (think its same company tbh). but they all quote STUPUD ammounts on even 10yo 1.0's. I was lookin at 1, and for a civic 1.3 M reg, it was 3k fully comp and 2.6k 3rd+f+t.

needless to say when i clicked the female box rather than male i could get fully comp for just over 2k :E not fair at all.

Try Tesco's, they are the cheapest for me. And to be honest, don't expect to pay under a 1000 to insure anything but a 1.0 Metro.

That tends to be the way with most peoples first car. I had a serria which cost me £500 and £650 to insure for a year :/

I managed to get £1450 through Liverpool-Victoria on my 1.4 Clio just after I'd passed, which was the best deal then for me.

If you pick the right car it can make a difference (I was only expecting to be able to afford a 1.1 or so for my first) and obviously different insurance companies vary. Norwich Union are very good, I'm going with them for my Alfa

    My name is Simon

Car insurance is a bitch, plain and simple. You gotta pay to play.

There's a reason it's expensive for young drivers (they crash more) and there's a reason young female drivers have lower premiums (they crash less). Insurance companies run on VERY low margin, believe me...

I must say actaully I'm well pleased with my insurance this year, was paying £760FC and was hoping to get it down to about £600 this year, renewal came thru the otherday, £502.19 how impressed was I
Mind you I am turning into an old git and havent hit anything for a while

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

If i keep my astra for another year i'll only be paying £310 fully comp, down from just over £510 last year and £800+ when i first had it.

    I had a fiesta 1.1 pop when i was 18, had to pay £270 a quarter then !.

Tho with the other cars i'm looking at i expect it to go up quite a lot

£650 - about 1.5x what my rusty 1.6 rover is worth

I'm 26, but without any no claims so I guess it was to be expected. Insurance + all the other associated costs was probably the reason I left it till now to buy my first car.

Civics are difficult to insure. Japs cars always are pricey in that respect..

I'm £503 FC with business use as well.

Civic Type R's are quite cheap surprisingly. I was quoted £930 fully comp.
