Question Please help!!!! Peugeot 306 Cooling Fan Relay Probs

To all you Peugeot experts, please help me!!!

After the cold snap experienced just after Xmas my Peugeot 306 1.8 GLX (1999) has decided to throw a wobbly. I'd left the car on the drive for couple of days and when a went to take it out I noticed the radiator cooling fans were still running! Needless to say the batterie was flat. I had it checked over and there were supposedly no loose wires and the thermostat is ok. I'm guessing that the cooling fan relay is sticking because the STOP light on the dashboard flickers occasionnally. I've removed the cooling fan fuse for the time being but I'm not able to do any long journey's in case the engine gets too hot.

Can anyone tell me where the cooling fan relay is situated???? or maybe someone has experienced a similar problem before

    Cheers,
    Danos

Shot in the dark, as I've not been inside any of the more modern Pugs.

A lot of electric fans use a thermo-switch (bi-metalic material that flicks at a certain tempreature) situated somewhere in the cooling system to switch them, to cut down on the complexities of an extra relay etc etc. Follow the wires up from the fan(s) and see if any of them end near a coolant pipe.

Pic above is for a '99 306 1.8 (8 valve i think). Let me know if yours is 16v/diesel and i'll see if any of the locations are different.

23 - engine coolant blower control module (with ac)
24 - engine coolant blower motor relays
25 - engine coolant blower motor resistor (single fan)
