I hate car thieves!!!!!!! They are so stoooooopid !!!!!!!
Woke up this morning, went to my car intending to drive work and thought "What the f.......?!??! "
Some scally(s) had screwdrivered out the driver side door lock, jammed some tool into the handle to get into the car, then took apart the steering column housing, ripped out and bent back the part of the metal steering column where you put the key in, presumably to try and hotwire the car. They then probably spent a bit of time wondering why they couldn't hotwire it. Then they must have tried to push start the car (hand prints on the side of the car which had also moved about 3-4 metres from where I had parked it, to a position across the front of my neighbour's driveway). My car has an engine immobiliser. It even has all sorts of stickers on the windows saying car protection system, "this car is fitted with an engine immobiliser" etc, codealarm system protected, this car is registered as part of some secuity national database, with security etched windows etc etc It also has one of those plastic brackets stuck on the inside of the windscreen to mount a satnav system. The stupid morons didn't even bother to steal the £300 satnav system that was in glovebox. Stupid moronic, illiterate, retarded, car thieves!!!

unlucky, but you can buy those stickers without an immobilizer, so may be why they thought they could get away with it??

You call the cops? Maybe they can get some finger prints off the car?
Sorry to hear that mate. I know how you feel, my old car got busted into once. Not nice.

Call the cops, watch them spring into action by allocating you a crime number. Wait, nothing happens. Honestly, the police just don't get a toss these days about stolen cars

cops can be quite good when there's the possibility of getting some prints. Might have to wait a day or so until the guy with the dust can pop round but it's worth a shot...

Yeah, they're going to send some coppers round to take some prints. Its a hassle though. Apparently the car has to be kept under cover overnight for it to "dry out" before the CSI come to do their jiggery pokery.
Had to get RAC to take the car to my local dealership for it to be stored....had to take practically a whole day off work to sort everything out. The RAC guy was saying its pointless trying to steal a car with an engine immobiliser. ![]() I hope they catch these scallies. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to how much its going to cost to fix? (driver's lock, steering column / ignition area ripped to bits). |

Its a Mazda Xedos 6.
It's insured, but £100 insurance excess isn't the half of it because if I make a claim, I lose all my maximum no claims bonus which would make a claim very expensive in the long run. Insurance is currently £450 a year with maximum NCB because its a Group 17 car (and the 6 points on my licence). Last edited by Hobart Paving; 25-01-2006 at 06:31 PM.. |
