    Renault Clio

I bought a second hand renault clio (2001 model) a month ago. When ive been driving a bit, i suddenly stall it (just passed test, still getting used to car) and 9 times out of 10 it wont start up again. I turn the key, all the lights come on the dash. Turn it again and nothing???? Towards the left hand side of the car you can hear it clicking but if i leave it for say an hour then it will start up again. Any advice would be great thanks.

Take the key out, lock the doors and then unlock again. That will sort it, it happens on all Clios. Something to do with the immobilizer.

Sounds great if you stall on a busy road!

Correct, it's the immobiliser arming. A quick lock unlock gives you 30 seconds to restart the car before it arms again.

My Megane does it too. I'm used to it, but it's a right pain when someone like my dad drives it, because he's always leaving cars unlocked I have to remind him so he doesn't flatten my battery, lol
