Short term car insurance (in case you didn't know)

Was trying to figure out a way of insuring a car so I can drive it home once I bought it and came across this:

Norwich Union Short Term Car Insurance

    I believe theres also dayinsure.co.uk

Basically you can insure a car for 1-28 days. £10.50/day for first 3 days £4.20/day after that for cars in insurance group 1-17 and <£40000

For group 18 and over its double that.

It's comprehensive cover. Although you may need to be over 25 for some groups.

Some of you may find this useful.

Might be handy for insuring my V6 on the days all the components are actually bolted to it.

It's very good but remember no under 21's at all, no Jap imports and no modifications.

If you and the car fit the criteria - you can. There is even an option of "try out a car" in the list of reasons. Other examples - help a friend/relative, share a long drive, temporary replacement as own car is faulty and a few others.

At £10.50 for the first three days it works out as over £3.5k a year - so they really couldn't care less what your reasons are. It does drop to half that if you go for more than 3 days, but even at £1.5k a year its enough to cover most risks. And they do put some limitations on age and car insurance group - or in some cases double the price.
