| Re: Beans - Intel preparing pre-Nehalem price cuts for Core 2 chips Phew, it's just as well I can't afford the rest of the bits for system upgrade at the moment then - It's a shame that some of my friends have already stumped up the cash for their system upgrades though - they will be fuming if I tell them they could have waited a month and gotten a better deal... But, thinking about it, whilst that has happened to me before, if you always wait to see what price drops there are going to be, you'd end up never buying anything. |

| Re: Beans - Intel preparing pre-Nehalem price cuts for Core 2 chips You can nearly always wait another month and get more for your money. It's one of the most reliable trends in computing. Choosing the point before diminishing returns kick in is where its at if you really are the bargain hunter though....and these price-cuts are maximum $20. So, 5-10 quid if your lucky. Not worth waiting a month for IMO. I've just replaced my X3220 with an E5200 and it's doing just fine. Bah! I'm being grumpy old man again .... |
