Analysis - What's really happening at AMD?

AMD denies rumours of a ten percent job cull, but that doesn't necessarily mean everything's OK.

The CEO must resign. AMD have fallen asleep. Their ship is sailing to nowhere. Poor processor releases, poor graphics card releases, it takes 2 chips to beat one chip. Disaster is in the air, how could they not envisage the 9800 GX2. The Phenom is old, slow and boring. They are where Intel was when they were pissing about with BTX and Rambus. Its time to rebrand, restructure. In reality Intel are only where they are now because of AMD. Pentium 4, got to be having a laugh!

AMD have possibly the worst website in history.

    lol @ rant^

I think AMD need to focus on R&D at the moment. Of course sell what they can, but they need to come up with the next big thing that will give them the crown for the next few years.

What happened to this article? I'd almost finished reading it sometime last week (or weekend) and it just disappeared.

    hi this_is_gav,

a very incomplete and much shorter draft of the article was accidentally activated at some point over the weekend and so was temporarily pulled.

the full article is now live.

    cheers,

    PD
