    Bloom Anyone?

That's what happens when you enable bloom on de_dust. I hope I'm not the only one that thinks that it is totally pointless

Yeah it supports HDR aswell but its just as bad. You should turn it off if you want a better chance of seeing people :s

Mine looks somewhere between ODCs and smoothnuts pics. I've turned it off now anyway since I'm loosing a few frames, and I'd rather not have the sun in my eyes when I shoot Luke in the head .

Is yours with HDR on or just normal cs?

You're absolutely right. With HDR on it looks fine, but with bloom it looks like this:

What is bloom HDR exactly... technically speaking? Could anyone explain?

I believe it puts another layer of textures onto all HDR maps, so they're then bigger, and there's more for your graphics card to work through. I think there's 3 layers (iirc), i'm guessing they'd show the landscape, the shadows and basic lighting, and HDR lighting.

There's probably a more techie was of explaining it, but that's how I understand it.

HDR stands for "Higher Dynamic Range" if you download the Lost Coast thingy for HL2, it explains it all in detail. Very clever stuff tbh
