    Angry My CSS died?

I reinstalled CSS recently. I had a quick game and it worked fine. The next time I tried it the program shut itself down as soon as i clicked on a server in the server browser...

I have tried another reinstall, but it still shuts itself down as soon as i click on a server. Anyone have any idea what might cause this?

    Ta

Have you installed a new firewall since then? It might seem extreme to shut the program down but you never know.

Do you actually get onto the server?

I went for ages when I had a no steam logon problem, and that made me quit to desktop, often with a message saying HL2 has performed an illegal operation.

Best advice I have is to email steam support, and ask them to look at the problem. After many email, and no joy, they asked me to sent them some files for them to look at:

    dxdiag report
    log files
    minidump files
    MSINFO32 Info reports

Perhaps you could explain the problem and if whatever they suggest doesn't work, then ask if you could send them some files to diagnose or something. Just keep at it with the emails, eventually, they'll realise you problem is serious because you're not going away .

Sounds like an obvious question - but have you checked with the seller to make sure the number is correct?

I logged on to steam to follow your suggestions and steam updated and the problem disappeared... Odd, but good

Thank you for your help. See you on the HEXUS server
