HEXUS CS:S Server Betting & Custom Maps
I've recently added counter bet to our CS:S server for a trial run. Basically, when you're dead, you can bet some of your money on what team will win the round in the format below:
bet <team> <amount> team is either ct or t amount is either a number, or you can say '1k' or 'all' to bet everything you have So, have a go on the server, and let me know your thoughts. If no one likes it, it can easily be taken off .This all about because someone suggested it to me, so if anyone has any other suggestions, let me know, and they'll be implemented depending on popularity. Note to admins: I don't want to see anyone using their admin powers to influence the outcome of the rounds in order for them or anyone else to win their bet. If this happens admin privilages will be taken away from people. |

yes.. its an idea that makes sense.. having to start a match on the losing team with nothing more than $1500 is a pain really.. my beloved P90 cost almost twice that amount minus all the armour and bits..

I say add it as it makes waiting when dead (although a rarity for me) so much more tense and interesting.
You don't HAVE to vote so there really isn't a lot to lose if anything... |

OK - looks like it's going to be taken off then. I do see how it can be seen as annoying though - someone could have way more cash than you not through any kind of skill, but through guessing the winning team. It's not really what CS is about.

If I'm honest, it was never my idea in the first place. A few people had suggested the idea to me, so I found out how to do it and made it happen to see if people liked it or not. I've since found out that it's not been such a popular idea and has since been taken off the server. There are other suggestions such as the mugging mod that I will take into consideration, so expect another thread similar to this one next week

It would be good if we could turn it on an off depending on what sort of gameplay is going on. Sometimes public servers can be quite hardcore, but when its a bit more of a mess around the betting would be fun.
