CS Source config
Hiya - i used to play 1.6 all the time and now have started playing source as it seems that it has improved since its first release.
Question i have though is with 1.6 i used to use my own config with settings which made it feel alot better to me. I used to use the following rates for example.... rate 25000 cl_updaterate 100 cl_cmdrate 100 etc etc Just want to know if these are as important now days? i have a 2mb adsl connection, and when i used to play 1.6 i only had 512. Does any of this matter anymore and if it does, anyone have any good links to game sites with example configs? |

unless ur worried about ur fps and want a boost the only real things u need to hcange are the ones ur mentioned. The rates used above would be perfect, keep them something like cl_crosshairscale xxxx would be good to put in config www.gotfrag.com and look at the top source clans, find there website and look for there player configs. A player called fiflaren who plays for zex gaming has a good config

What difference does this make guys? Seems like borderline cheating to me? Surely everyone shoud be signing off the same hymsheet if you get what i mean?
I've been playing a few months and am really getting into it. ![]() |

means that people who dont change there rates are the ones who are in the wrong, and its agony to get some nab, who knows squat about anything, saying that its just ane excuse, its not cheating its a configuration, everyone likes it differnt, at the end of the day anyone can use them they done aid your aim, just differnt things people like.

As for the 'people who don't change rates are in the wrong'..WTF? Can't you see what i'm saying? the game should be who's got the most skill, not who knows the most about the program to figure out the albeit legal, hax?! I found out the other day that you can change the AWP to oly have 1x zoom making it easier to switch in and out of zoom? As if enough people don't hate the AWP already? I just think there should be a level playing field for all... |

i wouldnt exactly say rate changes are cheating
Example...when u install cs..it askes what connection youve got...that itself is changing your rates accordingly biggest thing i miss from 1.6 ex_interp ![]() |

I don't think i'm calling it cheating as such, it's just disappointing that it's not a level playing field for all...Those who know about it get an advantage over those that don't know about it? |

they are not legal hax mate, you could have all of thses so called aids and i garantee i will still beat you on factory defaults its just down to taste and what you like, i prefer to use left handed gun its not a hack just i liek it more. ![]() damn interp lol. so many clans in low skill use that these days. hate it yuk ![]() |

no point touching interpolate, as z-block is on and should be on most servers. jsut get ur rates sorted and crosshair size colour, and thats all u need unless u wanna get more fps then search google for casey's config
