Judge Dreed Vs Death, can be picked up for a fiver now on the sold out range.
There is quite a large variation of games. Block war is my favourite as it is kinda like capture the flag. Don't expect many online games due to its age but is ideal for small groups. Also if you can get hold of it either Elite Force or Elite Force 2, yeah they are Star Trek but really good games. Run on the Quake 3 engine. |

Re: online rpg's /fps/rts?
Go back to the classics?
I'm sure you can find some older games... the originials of many games now (like the origianl HL/team deathmatch) are occasionally quite good. Failing that, Titan Quest is apparently good for that sort of thing, Age of Empires is nice if you like Strategy (the newest one, or no. 2... both are fine, if you have conquerors expansoin pack.. I think 1+2+expansions are only about £10-15 combined atm and the third and expansion pack is about the same) Alternatively, get Oblivion, then race through the guilds.. may not actually be multiplayer, but set that difficulty to highest and start a new account and race to say... the end of the Fighter's Guild (or for a challenge: the Mage's Guild... most spells kill you in one-three shots.) Quite a few Singleplayer games are good for that sort of thing... |

Dredd Vs Death which is buy 2 get 3rd free on all the titles in sold out range, not forgetting free delivery :
http://www.sold-out.co.uk/productSol...oductLabelID=1 Prey also on the same range, should be good for some mayhem : http://www.sold-out.co.uk/productSol...oductLabelID=1 Dead Mans hand, not bad western shooter. Same range : http://www.sold-out.co.uk/productSol...oductLabelID=1 If you got 3 copies of each of those games it would be a mere £30. 9 games for that price is really good. Get you mates to do the same and away you go ![]() |

Re: online rpg's /fps/rts?
If you've not tried it then WOW (World of Warcraft) is decent - similar to Guildwars.
If you all join the same realm/faction then you can team up. It's got enough content to keep you busy for a while... |

Re: online rpg's /fps/rts?
DoW is a goodun for sure, if a little older
but Supreme Commander is the ultimate online RTS IMHO. NWN2 is good in multiplayer, and more player adventures are coming all the time. The second expansion is on its way and should be even better for multiplayer. NWN1 doesn't look so pretty, but is very mature and there are a huge number of both adventures and persistant worlds to play multiplayer. Two Worlds apparently has an okay multiplayer - I couldn't stand the single player but I have friends who like it. Team Fortress 2 and Counter Strike:Source are well established online FPSes edit: oi! Stop reading my mind Salazaar! ![]() edit2: Dungeon Siege 2 might be another one to look out for. |

Supreme Commander
Or, if you're bored of the HL2 series, you should try Garrys Mod 11 (costs $9.99 on steam), the sandbox mod for source games(You possibly have already). It isn't everyone's cup of tea but it's a right laugh constructing ropey contraptions and battling each other. The list of possibilities in that game are literally endless and the thousands of mods available mean that you can build almost anything. |

Re: online rpg's /fps/rts?
Just DoW? You may as well get some expansion packs whilst you're about it...
Soulstorm is interesting, but get Winter Assault at least. Allows use of Imperial Guard.. who can just fill up a smaller battlefield with cheap troops. You don't need a disc each for this either (3 players/disc maybe?) |

Re: online rpg's /fps/rts?
Well I think DoW covers all the other games in the series too, as they're so cheap to buy as a bundle (ditto SupCom and Forged Alliance). You do need a disc each of DoW if you're playing the same game, otherwise yes one of you could buy DoW, one Soulstorm and one Dark Crusade if it was three of you, but then each of you would be limited to playing different races in multiplayer.

Re: online rpg's /fps/rts?
Then you're being stupid and breaking the EULA that you agreed to when installing the game - unless the EULA for DC is different from all the other DoW games.
