Well what games did you enjoy in the past? Are you looking at online shooters, single player or a mix?

The Orange Box is excellent - it has the whole Half Life 2 set so far, and Team Fortress 2 and Portal thrown in as well.

grab the orange box and have play with various options. Personally the only game thats held my attention year on year is Day of Defeat and the current DoD-S version. Have been playing this for about 8 years, tend to have a game every day. Currently spending my time on the house of noobs server, more play for fun than serious competition.

I'd say DOD:Source as well - cheap, fun and addictive. Best few quid you'll ever spend!

    For online: Battlefield!!!

No storyline, but it's fine for blowing people's heads off.

Bioshock & Quake3 or even 4 with the Excessive Mod applied for serious online carnage...

I reinstalled my copy of Quake 4 today.

It is seriously freaky... I get freaked out.. especially when my mouse stops working and I can't shoot any of the things that are jumping at my head...

Still got to buy FEARerseus Mandate though...
