GTA IV confirmed for PC ?

Would be nice to start moving away from the console-exclusive games, is a shame for PC gamers tbh. I always wonder why they just don't release it at launch tbh. Ah well, PC gamers get shafted again

I hope its true; I loved playing Vice City on my PC (even more than the PS2, tbh), and I don't have the wampum for a PS3 right now to play it. And there's no way in Hades I'm buying an XBox 360.

It's not done at launch normally due to piracy AFAIK, get it out on consoles, make money THEN sell it where a large number of the games aren't bought

Yeah, i can see the issue with piracy, however it just seems a little odd because just as many people will buy it on console when it comes out whether it is on PC or not. I guess they just don't want to run that risk.

Games like GTAIV are used by console manufacturers to push sales of the consoles themselves, so delaying the PC release increases the number of people buying a console just to play the game.

Also the PC version takes a lot more work (specifically in scaling and QA). Cash flow is king and if you can get the same money earlier (which will then help sustain funding for the extra PC work) then that's going to be preferable to holding up all versions just for the PC.

I don't reckon PC owners got shafted. Quite the opposite.
The max resolution on the 360 is 720p. On my PC monitor via HDMI it does look like I'm playing it at a low resolution. Easily noticeable compared to when I play a PC game on the same monitor. PC owners will get to play GTA IV in a higher resolution. It'll look a lot better. Also, we may get extra content. Although I own this on the 360 already I would be tempted to buy this on PC. Also you probably won't suffer the pop-up that the 360 sometimes suffered.

I reckon it'll be worth the wait.

this is what I like about PC games, when they are popular fans make extra content mods etc... gives games more longevity.

I'll be getting this, really like GTA:SA on the PC... tbh I can't imagine playing GTA without a mouse

What would be awesome, but propably completely a long shot, would be having it cross platform. I've never used it myself, and it might be a bit crap, but the idea of practically doubling the online community is appealing.

Hopefully they will do something with the graphics as from what i saw on the trailers for consoles etc it looked a tad naff. However i would rather the multiplayer be good than it looking nice
