COD6:MW2 No Dedicated Server for PC Gamers

I put this in another thread but i think it warrents having another thread made about it to bring it to everyone attention.

Infinity Ward have announced that they will not be allowing the use of dedicated game servers in the new game of the call of duty series

Source is bash and slash but im sure there will be a few others.

For those of you who are not to savvy with tech/game talk this means that when you connect to a game you will connect to each other, there is no central server.

This prevents the use of custom content such as maps and mods, therefore we will see no big 30 v 30 servers with custom weapons and no competetive competition gaming.

As you can imagine this has caused an uproar of angry gamers on the internet; the wiki page has been locked due to vandalist and the number of joke jpegs and videos is hillarious. This is the place to post them if you find them.

It's a terrible shame, but I actually think there will be such an uproar that it will get changed - but at the expense of a delay to release.

Maybe they might be able to fix it with a major update if enough voices are heard... maybe...

I have cancelled my pre-order. I will wait and see reviews before re-ordering. I only want to play the multiplayer side of the game.

I was actually going to buy this as the first COD game ever, having played cod4 on the 360... Maybe I'll pass.
