    CoD7 -Vietnam

    Taken from x360a,

"CoD7 Shipping Out To 'Nam In November
Written Thursday, January 07, 2010 by Richard Walker

The Vietnam War was one of the most reprehensible wars in modern history, but gave us a whole catalogue of great movies and a handful of truly terrible games (Shellshock, anyone?).

Here's hoping that Treyarch can buck the trend for hideous games based upon the late 60s conflict having been handed development duties for the seventh instalment in the Call of Duty series, which will be heading off to 'Nam.

A spokesperson for Activision told CVG that the game will be arriving in November and is currently on course for a pre-festive season release, "just as with World At War and Modern Warfare 2.

"Activision believes that it can own Christmas again, just as it has in the last two years," the Activision source added.

If anyone can do the Vietnam war justice, Treyarch certainly has a very good chance. Colour us intrigued by CoD's new direction."

Since there hasn't been a good Nam game yet and WaW was no more than reasonably good I'm betting this won't turn out to much.

I don't know, I prefer WaW over the latest release..
atleast in terms of multiplayer, both single player campaigns were pretty mediocre though.

i loved WaW also it's the only WW2 game i have ever finished and enjoyed, am currently on my second run through. I think i prefer the single player on this to Modern Warfare it enthralled me alot were as the only level on MW that gripped me was the sniper mission,

Let's just hope Treyarch use WAW as a base rather than MW2

    Re: CoD7 -Vietnam

I quite enjoyed Vietcong, was a decent game!

apparently WAW has gotten a lot more playable now that its been patched up. I still havent had the urge to reinstall it but i may well do if i keep getting snowed in with not much to do MW2 was based on the same engine as COD4 and WAW just with small improvements so its likely this will be based on COD:MW2 just with a few adjustments. I have read somewhere that they are eager to keep the dedi server capability available for PC gamers though which might do them a lot of favours.

WAW is definitely better than MW2, I really can't be bothered with the latest version. WAW was just more fun to play.

    Re: CoD7 -Vietnam

Vietcong was great, love the whole jungle themed war shooters. If they make it similar to that i'm sure it'll end up being a fairly good game, but theres just an endless amount of war games around these days, it's getting boring (probably sell alot nonetheless).

    Re: CoD7 -Vietnam

most vietnam games of the past have been very similar lets hope this will be a new take on vietnam and not the same only dense jungle and mazes of underground tunnels developers seem to stick with.

some fighting did actually take place in urban areas...

    Re: CoD7 -Vietnam

I actually installed Battlefield Vietnam last month, my friends and I were talking about the good ole days @ work so i decided to install and play, ended up playing single player deathmatch as i couldnt find any servers (updated to max) but getting in them huey's in Hastings still felt bloody great.
Being able to control them felt sooo good,
I was taking out all the congs that tried to get to our base round the side of the map (AI's).

Then there's the map where you get on a small moped and you can drive all the way round the edge of the map and nick a huey.. the napalm was a laugh as well as the music coming from the vehicles..yeah loved BF vietnam..

    Re: CoD7 -Vietnam

Vietcong was great, still one of my favourite games. Lets hope the Call of Duty people don't make a fast paced Hollywood blastathon for those lacking in attention span like their newest release.
