I cannot see how 2:28 is possible unless there is some car tuning to be done in the full game although having said that I am playing with auto gear shift. With F1 games you can go much faster with manual gear shift but I tend to play rally games more like an arcade than sim. Oh well atleast I tried and my time I think is bordering on respectable.
