Yeah, was going to say, the first two levels are about as hard as it gets really, due to the relative crapness of the weapons you have, and the fact that you are still getting used to the game.

After this, you only have 4 levels that are harder; the one with all the trigens running about in the ruins (Is that Archives?), Rebellion, and the last 2 levels, Dam and Volcano.

You'll slice through a good few now, right up till Tree Top Labs, where you might have a few re-tries.

Ah Tree Top Labs that was a great level

Trigens in the ruins? do you mean catacombswhere they have the nerve gas, i found that really easy- one of my favourite levels

Archives is just after rebellion, enterance is that huge whit-ish building. There are some great leves that are really very easy- regulator and the factory- great fun and compared with others a walk over. Its not all bad news

Yeah, I did mean Catacombs. That can be hard, although only in one place, where you have to take on 7-8 jumping Trigens. Miss a few shots, and you're dead in a second.

Not sure whats hard about the Archives, I don't remember being stuck on that, although that mght be the one where you fight several elite geezers at the end, which is tricky. Is that the level where you first meet the blokes holding a riot-shield thingy?

I watched a friend play Tree Top Labs a few weeks ago, and he was so tense, that when someone (bloke or Trigen) supprised him, he'd jerk the mouse and fire everywhere, and run like mad.

Very impressive that the game really had him nervous and on edge. Not quite up to Resident Evil standards, but still good for a FPS.

First level with riot guards was regulator iirc- first in the keycard room and then again before the end. Its the normal elite guards with gasmaks that got me- that series of huge hangars... oops shhh we shouldnt spoil zaks surprise

Bearing in mind i played it through on easy i didnt really have any trouble with trigens... until the end of course because i just reloaded if i took any serious damage and did it again.

First encounter with elite gurads(w/gasmaks) they kicked my ass in that hangar lol- i had full health and armour going in and i came out shaking like a leaf eith just a slither of health left and my nevers in tatters- quite a gaming experience.

My memory of the game is pretty hazy. Its good, but I only played through it once, on Easy.

I thought the first time you met the blokes with riot-shields was in the massive, circular room? Its very dark, and there is a giant fan thingy turning, and you walk up a spiral platform around the edge.

You get a new gun just before they appear.

That's how I remember it anyway.

Yep that was the bit i meant just before the end iirc of that level, with the fan- indoor guards and blue uniformed riot guards with the new gun tense moment that... shatter you bas... shatter

You know you can skip that whole top deck section. When you're on mid-deck going around the 'balcony' to the right hand side of the ship, you can shoot the chains for the dingy from long range (takes a few shots). Then just drop down into the sea, swim to the boat and away you go
