    Hi
Recently i've been playing a few video games online (mostly Call Of Duty) and have noticed that recently my ping has shot up to numbers between 250-600 when I'm on 576k broadband . This is really odd and never used to happen before, so i tried turning off everything that uses bandwidth that i could think of (kazaa, msn etc) but this has little effect.
Any guesses to what might have caused the increase, and how can i subdue it?

btw I get the internet upstairs through a radio network, and my pc is 100% virus/spyware free according to AVG, Spybot, and Spywareblaster

You sure you're getting good signal strength from the router or whereever you're getting the internet from downstairs? If you're getting a weak signal, I'd assume that would slow the connection to the internet down.

What speed is the connection according to the network symbol in the bottom right?

Hmm, do you use encryption? Otherwise someone maybe is sneaking some bandwidth? You can login in into your AP and check if someone "strange" is connected.

Another thing to try is "Bandwidth monitor", a program that tells you current speed of incoming or outgoing traffic to your computer.
