It was only £17.99 at GAME so I thought why the hell not. Seems to have gone up to £24.99 now though.

Aye, it's a bargain at that price. Even if you only play it for a couple of weeks

Part 'teaser' for GT4 and part training product, Gran Turismo 4: Prologue has already enjoyed huge success in its native Japan. The European 'Signature Edition' will include 46 tests designed to hone every aspect of players' driving skills and feature 64 different cars - well short of GT4's 500+ vehicles but a pretty healthy number all the same. Players who complete all of the tests featured in Prologue Signature Edition will be rewarded for their efforts by getting a headstart for GT4 saved on their Memory Card.

As an added bonus, GT4: Prologue Signature Edition will feature an exclusive 'Making of' movie, which gives you a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the hugely anticipated GT4, as well as a few pointers on what makes a truly great driver.
The head start will be worth it

It is worth the money too me
64 cars for a start! most of which have to be unlocked in the tests section and the tests section is a full game in it's own right, it took me ages to finish the test section and get gold in every one in GT3 and this time it's bigger with 10 lap races where your not alowed to go off the track or just ram everyone else off and a bigger rally section.
At least this way I've got till november to get them all sorted, without the temptation of just doing the basics and then completeing the game and going back to the tests later to unlock all the extras.
The other thing is by the time GT4 full comes out and everyones playing Online I'll have got enough practice so you'll only see my tracks

Anyway what £17.99 two Playstation Magazines, one pack of ciggys and a couple of cans of coke

Ordered , are the savegames with this the same as for the full game? so that when the full game comes out I wont have to do the tests again?

Yup! Or at least it sounds like it.

For die-hard fans of the series, GT4 Prologue Signature Edition will likely be an essential purchase, but Polyphony has thrown in a few added incentives as well. The European version of the game will feature an exclusive 'Making of GT4' movie to further whet appetites for the triumphant return of the Real Driving Simulator. In addition, Prologue players will be rewarded for their efforts by receiving a special headstart in GT4 when it arrives later in the year.
And thats from the official site
