Carmageddon TDR 2000 DX Error

Anyone still play this game? Its one of my faves so I purchased the UK version from play for £4.99 . anyhow the first level plays fine but when the second level loads I get a Direct X error and the game crashes to the desktop.
Anyone had this problem? better still know of a fix? compatability prob with my new Geforce 6800 perhaps?

Carmageddon was great! Not played it for ages tho. hope u get it workin.

Tryed the patch, didnt seem to work, ive had more of a play around and it just seems to be the missions inbetween that it doesnt like so i have to do them in software mode, the standard races seem to work fine

What resolution have you been running it at??

I installed it yesterday after reading your post and had a dx error come up, but i found it was to do with the resolution you set the game at i had it as 1290 x 960 and that caused a crash, as soon as i tried it at 1024 x 768 it went away.

Runs very well, but the graphics have aged quite badly.. (Even with 6xAA and 16xAF!)
If i get the same error as you on the later missions i'll post it on here.
