Yeah, because we all have cards and drivers that support it

    it's not the SDK

It's the redistributable binary that games devs can legally include on games disks..

Why download it? Because it's new and people usually like to download the newest bits related to windows..

Probably not, but does anyone know if 9.0c has any optimizations for PS2.0?

To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

Optimizations should be done at driver level. Unless their was a major problem with PS2 in DX, they wouldnt go changing the code and risk breaking compatibility with all current games.

So would DirectX 9.0c do anything for cards such as the 9800 series or the 5900 series?

It will be required to run games that are built on this release, but even when installed, graphicaly, it will make no difference on those cards.

Humm, it says it's for developers & software developers so they can include it with their products. So your average joe, home user (some who's not a developer, like me ) should not download this release ? as aren't the home user ones called end-user runtime or somthing ? If this is not the "average joe" one , then when will it be released ?

    Cheers, Dave.
