Hmm.. Guess you should have read a few of the thousands of posts by unhappy gamers on DX2 before parting with your cash. Still, thankgod it was only five bucks!

DX1 was one of the best games I ever played. I remember going through the whole thing about 5 times, and still finding completely new ways to get through sections. DX2 was dumbed down console madness. Shame. Still, at least it killed off what was left of the company (I.S.), so it all turn out well in the end. Except for us poor gamers.

hehe i was gonna come in here, cough alot and then ignore you forever

but i see that your sane

the reason its so poor its that its an Xbox game ported BADLY to the PC. Halo came over with a good conversion, gearbox had the sense to improve the resolution and graphics for the PC, whereas ironstorm just couldnt be arsed. Still ive been through all this before, but suffice to say that i blame Xbox and therefore M$ for this...another reaosn to switch to linux...

    Correct.

re: "another reaosn to switch to linux"

    I see you're not. :-)

(Ps. Actually, been doing Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, SCO UNIX, ULTRIX, XENIX, REDHAT AS, SVR4 and countless other longer forgotten Un*x's for the last 20-odd years, so I guess I must be mad! Still, beats Windows or, god forbid, Mac. :-))

I managed (somehow) to play through it - myth, you can patch it to stop it being as horrendous as you've found...though it's still godawful then.

Spud1: it's one thing having a bad port for a reasonable X-BOX game (you thought the halo port was good? I'm scared.) ..this was a bad port for a crap game, crap squared.

well with the halo port i meant in terms of the fact that they at least tried to make it into a PC game rather than an xbox game...DX2 COULD have been good had it been developed for the PC and not the *spit*Xbox*spit* ;/
