EVE Online
Well, I finally have this up and running now, the problem before was to do with onboard sound on VIA chipsets I believe. Turning down the music volumn in the client works a treat!
Am so happy with this game now, it really rocks! Runs as smooth as a peach on my 9600XT at 1600x1200 with full AA and AF. Absolutely beautiful! So, my question now is, does anyone play this regularly? If so, are you part of a Corp? If you are, what corp? I had a mate help me out by letting me kill him and collecting his bounty, and I've also had a few other generous characters donating a few 1,000isk here and there, but I really need to get some big money now. I desperately want a Cruiser. Am currently mining with a Bantam into an anchored secure cargo container and then collecting the ore from there with my Badger, not the Mk2 though. This is all very well, but as it's in a 0.6 security system (not hard I know) you get the odd rat coming over and I only have 2 mining lasers on my Bantam and no other defenses, so I have to dock and get my Merlin to destroy them, then get the Bantam back to continue mining. This gets pretty annoying after a while... So, who's got any tips for me, if any of you play it at all? And who knows any decent Corps? Cheers!
If cars had followed the same developmental path as computers, a Rolls Royce would cost £60, get a million miles per gallon and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.

I played this when it first came out then stopped to play SWG which was unfortunately a pile of cack. I wish that I had continued with EVE as it was great fun. Best idea for mining is to join/create a corp and go out in teams with at least one guy defending you all.

I like it because I can be downloading things and the game will still run fine, I can be using MSN and browsing on the laptop and watching something on TV and I can be playing EVE at the same time.

Just started, Loving this game - finally a challenge!
Play as Angelu5 - If you see me give me a shout...
Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half-light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams. |

Have a look for some guides before creating your character, getting it right to start with gives the skills you need to start. There are some guided here
http://www.eve-i.com/home/dancer/pag...rticlelist.php I followed the mining one to make some dosh. Am currently reading the ship fitting ones as its a mystery at the moment. Made quiet a bit of money scavenging around high risk asteroid belts, have found unlocked storage containers with all kinds of valuables.
