Gaming injuries - what have you done to yourself?
Last night I smashed I wine glass (I wasn't smashed at the time
) and sliced my index finger on the stem picking it up ops: There wasn't much blood, but being the end of my finger it hurts like hell. This is, of course, my 'W' finger (of WASD fame) - I'll get owned this weekend! ![]() This got me thinking, how many of you have shed blood for the cause? Ever had a dongle in an awkward place? Squashed anything with that 23" monitor? Had an unexpected 'interface' moment? Fess up, share it with Hexus ![]() (Embarassing admissions to casualty particularly sought after)

I've dislocated my little finger once when I punched my monitor while getting owned by an OGC using maggot
![]() Also stubbed my toes a few times on my desk when I got frustrated with my poor performances. Yes - I did go to casualty to get my finger put back into place. I also had a problem last year with my shoulder dislocating if I moved my mouse too far, this was brought on by an accident that damaged my ligaments and tendons in my shoulder. |

My friend once fractured his arm, when another of my friends swung the SNES bazooka at him in a fit of rage for losing at Mario Kart. Does that count?

My only injurys have come from putting my PC togther in the frst place, back when I used crap cases that cut your fingers to ribbons. On a side note I bought myself a nice shiny silver floppy drive to match my case yesterday, cost £5. Hooked it up switch on my PC and mmmmmm whats the smell... SMOKE!! PC ON FIRE!!!!!! I VERY quickly switched off my PC and investigated. Somehow the power connection on the floppy drive had caught fire not only was the floppy drive ruined but it had melted the cables from the PSU. SO i took the floppy drive back and bought a new PSU
![]() Final cost of floppy drive £75! |

blimey. Unlimited unjurys.
Where to start? OK....one day, over a year ago, I was getting very very frustrated with IL-2 Forgotten Battles. It seemed tome that my joystick was toblame. After all...I am an Uber Pilot ![]() So I decided to punish the Joytick. I took it to the shower, and I hosed it off. Made me feel better....but not much....so I flushed it in the toilet, and then, beat it with a hammer. I took lots of photo's of it, and then, in a rage of "why wont it break" I dug a hole and buried it in mu garden. I took the photo's and posted them here at Hexus (pre Hexus Server Hack....when we lost it all) While digging the hole I twatted my foot with the spade SO hard I nearly cried, and once it was buried I limped to PC world for a new joystick! Err....recently while in a VEF mission in IL-2, with headphones on, 45 minutes into the mission, and spotting a lone BF109 below me, I took it upon myself to Boom and Zoom this straggler and show him that Mother Russia was superior. At this critical moment, while sweating a bit, and being immensely excited I failed to hear my missus come to my house, come up to the PC room, walk up behind me and kiss me on the neck. This Fighter Pilot filled his pants at this unexpected attack on my 6.!!!! ![]() I stood up SO fast I got my leg stuck under the PC desk, and then fell backwards onto the hard wood floor. my arse ached for a week

you want more?
You know the whole mess of wires under every PC? Well I have a stupid dog...who likes wires....and she got well muddled in them while I was playing UT....anyway..for want of a better description, my keyboard shot across the table, cos she was conected to it down there \/ under the desk. I tried to drop my left shoulder low down to reach the dog, and dislodge it WHILE keeping my eye on the screen....it was working too...and I got the dog off the cable and my left arm shot back up to the keyboard to retrieve it. until the dog went the OTHER way, and took the mouse cord with her....my right arm was over the RIGHT side of the desk, my left arm stretched to the LEFT side of the desk, and then the chair rolled out from under me, and there I was....chin on the desk, arms spread like I was being frisked....and then ALL the lights went out cos she got stuck behind the mains power, lead, and pulled it all out..... *click* pitch black, no lamp, no screen, no light..... then I accidently sat on her from lack of balance and she bit me
