    Lightbulb OMEGA Drivers really worth it?

    are the omega drivers worth it?as i run the erm cat 4.8 (i think) as the newsest ones wouldnt work with the control panel, and yes i no u can get em without it... so erm is omega drivers worth it?i use ATItool neway, aparently it comes with it?

    Not really they used to be well worth downloading as they fixed a lot of errors with games and allowed soft-modding for 9500 users to get 9700 speed and had the 9700-9800 mod to.

    But now ATI have really good drivers and nearly all the fixes are included in the official drivers.

    The only reason i still install them is for ATI tools and radlinker, as i can get a nice overclock with them, and supposedly ATI do lock there drivers to not allow you to overclock but the omegas allow it.

    Some people swear the image quality is better with the omegas, but i cant tell the difference myself.

    Ive been using them for a while now - The O/C utility alone is worth it.
    and having the Radlinker is very handy

    can i just download Radlinker, and run it with the ATi drivers? or do i need the omegas so that i can overclock more as u say that the ATi's are lock drivers.i curently have overclocked my 9600xt a little.

    hehe i found the omega drivers just as stable as the ati ones, just with a few extras,

    hey ravens nest, u mentioned theres a 9700 to 9800 mod about, n e more info about it mate ???

    I use the omega drivers to mod my 9800se AIW to a 9800 pro AIW. For me its the only option.

    i don't think the omega drivers are worth the bother as they generally come out way after the official drivers and usually don't support amny the way the official drivers do.
