I'm thinking of getting a steering wheel for my PC. Up until now i have been using an adapted PS2 Dual shock 2 controler, which has been fine for rally games like the Colin McRae series and Richard Burn's. However, GTR is proving much more of a challange control wise. I just can't seem to get a setup that's not impossibly twitchy and I can't get anywhere with this game.
So who would recommend a steering wheel? Who here has one? Whats a good one to get? And is it worth getting pedals as well? Cheers. |

There may be a weird exception but I always believed that 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 99999999% of wheels came with pedals.
Give us your budget. But for starters Logitech momo wheel is supposed to be very good. ![]() Tough on mirrors, tough on the causes of mirrors. |

the best wheel "apparently" to play GTR with is the logitech driving force pro, it has (at most but tunable) 900 degree's steering lock and the force feedback is apparently superb.
Ive got one on order at the mo from ebuyer Linky might be a bit out of your price range though Incase you were wondering, yes it is a ps2 wheel, but it is usb and the drivers provided by logitech Here make the driving force pro the wheel of choice. Apparently its superior to the MoMo also just cant wait to get my hands on it

Could anyone enlighten me as to why you'd need 900 degrees lock? You are not driving a ship, are you?

rally games find this useful, with the constant corrections, in gtr apparently around 540 degree's of lock is about right and this is limited by the drivers with the force feedback so im told

I have an MS Sidewinder ForceFeedback, which i was bought as a present, it works, but it not great.
- There is "play" between the wheel and FF, so when its FFing it make a huge noise. - Also, the pedals are cheap feeling and squeked alot unlike i took it part and regreased it (still not great) If i was buying one, i'd be looking at reputable brands like Logitech, all there stuff is very nice (i have three of the mice, and 2 Keyboards) Daniel |
