| Why on earth was it an apple G5? Strange that MS of all people would use a apple, their rival. EDIT : Just read somewhere that the E3 demo's where done using 2 Geforce 6800GT's in SLI. The RSX might me even faster. Last edited by autopilot; 28-05-2005 at 12:22 PM.. |

| Oh yawn. All this power for your next Halo X or MGS ? Wonderful. Whats the point of all this power when manufacturers apart from Nintendo will constantly release the same old formulae games with just flashy graphics? Most importantly, when will the consumer get bored of the same old rehashed formulaes, forcing the industry to take some risks? |

| Sublime HEXUS.net | The graphics part is usually one of the last to be manufactured, and with the console not due for another year, it's rather obvious that any demos aren't going to be running on final hardware. It's the same with every console, pretty much ever. Both the 360 and the PS3 were running on hardware that approximates the abilities of the final products, in the case of the 360, they were running on G5 based machines as they are comparable to the design of the 360 core, and in the case of the ps3, the machines were running on cell processors, but with the graphics coming from a nextgen nvidia graohics part that shared capabilities with the RSX. After all, if they were running on final hardware, they'd be hitting retail a lot sooner than they are. Originally Posted by silent ben

| Yeah, Ragdoll Kung Fu isn't a re-hash of anything I can think of. Also, has anyone seen the GDC vids for Spore? Can't WAIT for that! Sorry, off topic a bit there. Anyway, the comment about flashy graphics is true, but more powerful machines don't just mean flashy gfx. They also mean better implementations of things like physics and customisable content, making the games far more immersive and engaging. |
