    HEXUS.gaming Interview with John Hare!

You older gamers will have a good idea who John Hare is.

For those that don't know, he was part of the team responsible for such classics as Mega Lo Mania, Cannon Fodder and Sensible Soccer.

    The man is a legend.

Anyway, I'm taking the man out for lunch next week to talk about what he's been up to and to see how Sensible Soccer is coming along.

So are there any questiong you guys would like me to put to him?

    They are re-doing sensi soccer???!?!?

just tell Jon that he better than mess it up

also tell him they need to remake cannon fodder as well, that game was awesome (wicked music as well on the Amiga - 'War, never been so much fun...' )

i'd love to hear what John Hare thinks to the quality of games out at this time?. How graphics over game play seem to have taken over the industry?.

    Words to that effect

Tell him I apologise now for having a pirate copy of Sensible Soccer for my Amiga. Piracy was different back then. I owned an original cannon fodder though

To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

Ask Jon whereabouts in the market he sees Sensi Soccer, and does he see it competing with FIFA/Pro Evo? They are footie games after all, with a large market share to boot. Also, will Sensi have any management opions, like the aforementioned games?

"How are you going to ensure that you keep the simple playability of the original SS whilst making sure that the graphics look crisp, clean and up to date?"

"Was it the resounding success of the plug-and-play TV controller version of Sensible Soccer that prompted you into creating a new version, or had one been on the cards for longer than that?"

"Even though Microsoft, Sony and various video card manufacturers are insisting that faster graphics performance equal better games, I personally believe that the 'casual' gamer is going to get bored of all this,.especially when you consider the huge amounts of 8 and 16 bit retro TV joysticks being shifted. Do you think that game developers and manufaturers should stop, think and take gaming into a completely different direction?"

    Take your pick
