    Xbox 360 Question

I am hoping to buyan xbox 360 and was wondering if i connect it up to my 17" pc tft monitor (1280*1024) will the games be stretched or will I have black bars at the top and bottom of the screen (xbox 360 games are widescreen are they not?)

    thanks

depends on the game. as of quite a few updates ago, the thing can natively support 1280x1024 through a VGA cable - but it's up to the developers as to how they implement that resolution

As i have found out myself (using a dell 2005fpw) Some games look great on a tft but some (PGR3 for one) look terrible.

That explains why Ghost Recon had black bars top and bottom (was wondering why)
coz on the main menus and things it used the whole screen. looks really good tho nonetheless.

what is wrong with pgr3 on a tft?

I would have thought on a widescreen like the 2005fpw it would look great?

I have the same problem with PGR3, and have to use a different resolution on my 19" TFT. It basically stretches the cars, and mucks up the perspective/shape of cars etc.. So they look really bad.

    Unfortunately not

Ghost recon looks mindblowing at 1366x768 (full screen on my Dell) or whatever it is but project gotham looks terrible. Some games play with side and/or top black bars.

Its probably because the games are optimised for 720p and 1080i on hdtv's.

Using the monitor is a temporary measure until i can afford a hdtv. Bring on the price drop
